AutoFill Portal Chrome Extension — Last updated: February 26, 2026
1. What AutoFill Portal Does
AutoFill Portal is a Chrome browser extension that reads form fields on government permit
application websites and automatically fills them using data from a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel
file) you provide. The extension uses exact name matching, fuzzy semantic scoring, and optional
AI assistance to map spreadsheet columns to form fields.
The extension communicates with a backend server (hosted on Railway) that performs the
field-matching computations. The backend requires an API key that you configure.
2. What AutoFill Portal Does Not Do
- It does not submit forms on your behalf. You must review and submit every form yourself.
- It does not guarantee that filled values are correct, complete, or appropriate for any
specific permit application.
- It does not store or transmit your spreadsheet data to any party other than your own
Railway backend server.
- It does not access, read, or exfiltrate any page content other than the names and labels
of HTML form input elements.
- It does not collect or transmit passwords, payment information, or any data entered into
non-form-field page elements.
- It is not a licensed permitting service and does not provide legal, engineering, or
regulatory advice.
3. Your Responsibility to Review
You are solely responsible for reviewing every value AutoFill Portal fills in before
submitting any form.
AutoFill Portal uses statistical matching and AI assistance to suggest values — it can and
does make mistakes. Fuzzy matches may be semantically close but factually wrong. AI suggestions
are generated automatically and may be inaccurate. Section headings, field names, and spreadsheet
column names may be ambiguous.
Before submitting any permit application, you must:
- Read every filled field and confirm the value is correct for this specific application.
- Verify that no required fields were left empty.
- Confirm that the data matches the current project, not a prior one.
- Check that license numbers, insurance certificates, and other compliance fields are
current and accurate.
4. No Liability for Incorrect Submissions
The developer of AutoFill Portal is not liable for:
- Any permit application submitted with incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information.
- Any fines, delays, re-submission fees, or enforcement actions resulting from the use
of this tool.
- Any loss of business, revenue, or opportunity arising from permit denials or delays.
- Any inaccuracies in AI-generated field suggestions.
- Interruptions in service, data loss, or errors in the hosted backend.
AutoFill Portal is provided “as is” without warranty of any
kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness
for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use AutoFill Portal only for lawful purposes. You may not use this extension to:
- Submit fraudulent, false, or misleading permit applications.
- Impersonate another contractor, company, or license holder.
- Submit applications for projects you do not have legal authorization to permit.
- Circumvent or interfere with permit portal security measures.
- Automate mass submission of applications without human review of each one.
- Scrape, harvest, or collect data from permit portal websites beyond what is necessary
to fill the current form.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or distribute modified versions of this extension without
permission.
Violation of this acceptable use policy may result in termination of access to the backend
service and may constitute violations of applicable law.
6. Service Availability and Changes
AutoFill Portal is provided as a convenience tool for licensed contractors. The developer
reserves the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the backend service at any time, with or without notice.
- Change these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use after a change constitutes
acceptance of the revised terms.
- Limit or throttle API usage to protect service availability.
- Require an updated extension version to continue using the service.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent
revision to these terms.
7. HTTPS and Security
All communication between the extension and the backend server uses HTTPS. You should only
configure the extension to communicate with servers you control and trust. Never share your
backend API key with untrusted parties.
8. Third-Party Services
The backend optionally uses the Anthropic Claude API for AI field suggestions. Use of the
AI feature is subject to Anthropic’s Terms of Service at
anthropic.com/legal/consumer-terms.
The backend is hosted on Railway; use of the hosting infrastructure is subject to Railway’s
Terms of Service at

9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer resides, without
regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from use of this tool shall be
